I’ll be taking a break from working on ‘Act’ to head on down to Princeton for their Children’s Book Festival this Saturday, (September 14th).
I’ve driven through Princeton a ton of times, but I’ve never really given myself a chance to explore. I’m excited to spend the day there and, of course, to meet some young readers and their parents!

Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day to sit outside and sign some books! Thanks to everyone who came out and to Elm Street Books for inviting me!
It was so nice to meet readers and hear their thoughts on the first two Olive books, but it was even nicer to hear what kind of creative projects my readers are working on themselves. So many young artists and authors stopped by! Keep up the good work, everyone :)
I had the pleasure of video chatting with St. George's Independent School’s Mother Daughter Book Club on Friday morning. They had such insightful questions about the themes and characters in CLICK! It was fun discussing the inspiration behind some of my favorite people in Olive’s world.
The upside of visiting via video was that my cat could pop in and say hello, the downside was that I couldn’t try anything from the beautiful brunch spread they had set up.

This afternoon, I was invited to visit my old middle school and hang out with a group of very creative and talented kids.
We tested out a new writing workshop I created that focuses on context and collaboration. The students worked together to write some really interesting stories, including but not limited to: a tragic romance set on a bench made of tortilla chips situated next lake full of nacho cheese, the action packed tale of a baby wolf being pursued by robots through a futuristic Chicago on Halloween night, and several bone chilling ghost stories… which we then made into comics! I thought it was a lot of fun and I hope the kids would agree.
Join me at the Ridgewood Public Library on March 9th for a day full of comics, crafts, reading, and a ton of fun activities! I'll be at a table in the auditorium area with a fresh stack of CLICK books just waiting to be signed— and some other comics and goodies, too!

I had an amazing time signing books and chilling at the B&N Kids’ Book Hangout in Clifton, NJ! Everyone had such thoughtful and interesting questions about CLICK and the activities Barnes & Noble had planned were super fun!
I was also very happy to see some advanced copies of CAMP in the hands of eager readers!
